Character In-Depth

You didn't necessarily choose this life. Actually, far from it. This life was thrust upon you, and all you could do was hold on for the ride. You're honestly surprised you're still alive now, at your age. Especially with how long you've been in the business of killing killers.

If prompted, you could tell them when it all started. It started the day your father, a small town police officer, was gunned down by a serial killer. Someone else killed your father's killer, but that didn't make it any better. You were alone, you were an orphan. Poor little Cassandra Little, an orphan and alone. Your father wasn't the only one to die that day, but the others meant nothing to you when faced with the sudden darkness, something no eleven year old should ever have to face. You remember wandering away from the graveyard, tired and alone, until you suddenly weren't.

Sebastian had lost his entire family to the same killer that took out your father. He was the one that had delivered the final blow, the one to shoot the bitch who killed your father. It had all happened the very same night, after all, and Sebastian had been forced to watch his family die. You still don't know what made him follow you, but you can guess. He'd lost a child that night, and you had lost your remaining family. He felt a kinship to you, and you felt so relieved when he didn't say he was sorry for your loss.

He asked you what you wanted. Not what you planned, not what was expected of you now. You looked at him, right in the eye, and you still remember what you said, and what he said in return.

"I want to kill all the people like her, that think they can take the lives of people who don't deserve it."

"So why don't we do just that?"

Perhaps you were strange, to find comfort in his words. Perhaps it was a child's delusions of being a hero. But Sebastian didn't mock you, or tell you that wanting to kill someone was wrong. Instead, he offered you a chance to get vengeance. Because your father's killer wasn't the only one of her kind, and in fact was a part of a large group who targeted 'monsters'--those who accepted their demons as part of their family, who didn't treat them as tools. It didn't make sense to you, but these people were powerful in ways you weren't. And they were using that power to hurt, instead of heal, and to get away with it!

People tried to say that Sebastian kidnapped you. But it was your idea to leave and you chose to follow him. And he never hurt you, not in ways that weren't meant to save your life later. If you were going to do this, he said, you needed to be prepared to die any day. Lilim agreed with him, and so your training began. He got you in touch with some friends when you told him you wanted to learn how to hack into anything. He gave you a new name, one you treasure to this day: Calytrix, or Trix, or his little cricket, because you never let them make a move, when he deemed you old enough, unless you were absolutely sure that the person you killed was guilty.

You were fourteen when he deemed you ready to make your first kill. He was a pedophile, a killer, and though you took no joy in killing him, you were glad that he couldn't hurt anyone else. You were even more glad that the family of his victims could get closure, as you left evidence of the man's crimes there for the police to find. You and Sebastian were careful, though. You never left any evidence of either of you. You were meticulous. You had a system.

You kept it up for years. Sebastian became a father to you in all the ways that counted. He would never replace your dad, and you would never replace his child, but you were both different. You were both alone in this world with only the other and your demons to call your own. So the day you almost lost Sebastian, you... became a little unhinged.

You were nineteen and you had made a name for yourself. People loved you, and hated you, and those who committed crimes feared you. You never killed an innocent, and not once did any of your 'victims' prove to be anything but guilty of the crimes that you killed them for. The police wanted to arrest you, but even then--there was dissent. But your greatest enemy turned out to be the one that started it all. Because the she-witch who killed your father, killed Sebastian's family, wasn't actually dead. She had faked her death with the help and money her father managed to get her.

Sebastian nearly died, and not a single man or woman walked out of that ambush alive except for you. You had gone back to where it all started, needing to see your families graves, and she shot Sebastian and would have shot you, if you hadn't gone invisible. Seeing him bleeding out on the floor broke something in you, and you made sure there was no coming back for her this time. You got Sebastian to help in time--a Biomancer who was willing to look the other way, ignore his identity, because he knew all too well that sometimes justice was not lawful.

The two of you decided to lay low, to go to the City. It was easy to get lost there, and you stopped killing for a while. But sometimes... sometimes when you knew there was a particularly nasty criminal, you would go after them. You and Sebastian, though he was getting older now and could only do so much. You opened up a shop, and he did his own thing, needing the cover it provided. It wasn't much, but it was a good front, and it was rather amazing, the things people would tell the slightly eccentric shop keep at the occult shop, tucked off of the main strip.

Demon Information

Lilim takes the form of a young girl with blonde hair and a red hood. And when she is not in that form, she takes on the form of a large owl(depicted in the picture). She is intelligent, and old, and she feeds on lies. The more elaborate, damaging the lie, the better. It is one of the reasons that her dear Trix is her favorite host of late.

After all... who tells better lies than a killer?
