I'm actually pretty open to most things on a storyline basis. I don't mind playing with darker themes. I'm not into rape/noncon, more extreme fetishes (extreme gore, bodily fluids) or heavy BDSM. They're not triggers, just not something I really want to RP.

Character Summary

Height: 6'3"

Build: Slim

Hair: Red

Eyes: Hazel

Sexuality: Homosexual

Oliver came to the City almost by accident. He'll say it was, but the truth is that he'd been dissatisfied with his life for a very long time and ending up in the City has probably been one of the best things to happen to him for a very long time.

Oliver is mostly mute. He can speak, but it takes quite a bit of effort and coordination and on many days he simply cannot scrounge up the extra energy to do so. He vastly prefers communicating by text or sign. Communication had been a difficulty for Oliver for most of his life, but moving to the City has changed that and he honestly couldn't go back to the way things were before.

He is a fairly new transplant and has been finding his feet in his new surroundings. Finding work hasn't been much of an issue and he's been enjoying the freedom of his new life and learning the sheer strangeness of the City.
None at this time.
Dominion 1
Mastery: Legendary
Necrosis: The ability to induce necrosis or begin necrosis in a target’s body; users can also end the decay as well, but they cannot reverse the effects. **Necrosis: Premature cell death; the decay of human flesh. It is said that a legend once walked the City that only had to breathe on a victim to start the process; however, no matter the level mastery, skin to skin/surface contact with a target is always required. Necrosis is also not an easy dominion to control, and accidents have occurred in which people are accidentally made victims when brushing against someone with the dominion.

Dominion 2
Mastery: Proficient
Pheromones: The ability to manipulate attraction, whether platonic, physical or romantic, in other people towards yourself. More persuasive speaking, more successful seduction, and a great deal of ability to control the attention of and fill a room. Pheromones work passively, so you can’t turn this dominion off. Control Based: Better control of how you affect someone.

Dominion 3
Mastery: Greater
Necromancy: The reanimation of the dead. Anything living that has since died can be reanimated, depending on how strong the dominion is, how long the thing has been dead, and how large it is. The thing reanimated cannot truly think, but can follow orders, sometimes even after the necromancer has died. Necromancy has limits: the reanimated thing will only stay reanimated for a set length of time depending on the mastery level. Power Based: Larger and older deceased life-forms can be reanimated.

Dominion 4
Superior Senses
Mastery: Greater
Superior Senses: Increased senses. You can touch, taste, see, hear, and feel things at a level unrecognized for any other human or demon.
Control Based: You can’t shut off your senses, but you have the ability to surpass most dogs for up to 24 hours in a day, depending on mastery level.

Dominion 5
Mastery: Greater
Electricity: The generation and control over electricity. This does not involve controlling machines, rather, the user can control the flow of power being used or channeled through machines. In some cases, the user can control lightning.
Control Based: The greater control over the channel of electricity.

Dominion 6
Mastery: Proficient
SHadow: The creation/manipulation of shadows, the ability to fade into the shadows or use shadows to hide things.
Power Based: The larger amount of shadows you can create at once.

Character In-Depth

Oliver's early life was fairly normal. He grew up in a middle-class home to loving parents. At the age of 8 he began experiencing issues speaking and focusing and eventually with coordination as well. Preliminary scans showed a tumor in his brain and further tests confirmed it. His family was devastated and preparations for treatment were made, but they found something unusual. His tumor wasn't growing, it had in fact seemed to have shrunk and after some time it stabilized. After consulting with specialists and demonologists it was determined that his demon was feeding on it, stopping it from growing and keeping its host alive. The decision was made to leave it be so long as his quality of life remained the same.

Oliver learned, adapted. Speech was still hard, so he learned sign language and focused on his writing.

Not long after, his Dominions began to manifest. One night his mother put him to bed and kissed him goodnight as usual. He went to sleep with no worries in his childhood mind. The next morning their worlds were forever changed. His mother's mouth and cheek had begun to turn sickly and black, skin sloughing off to reveal fat and meat below. The rushed to the hospital and doctors were able to determine that Oliver was the cause. He was able to stop it with their guidance, but his mother endured many reconstructive surgeries and the scars were a constant reminder. He was provided with a bracelet to protect others from his touch.

His family persevered. Though they would rather he have another Dominion they knew there was no controlling what he received and they believed that Demonic powers could be a blessing. Surely there was a reason that Oliver had been gifted with such a thing.

When his other Dominions came to light as he aged his relationship with his parents became more strained. He was able to sway other's hearts, when his pet goldfish died he held it up, wriggling sluggishly, with a huge grin, he turned out all the lights in the house during a tantrum. His parents had been hoping for transformative or healing Dominions, things that could be seen as blessings from God. Oliver's demon seemed to be every bit the opposite of what they wanted for their son, especially once it became clear his demon was of the more primal sort.

They encouraged him to focus on his electrical Dominion once it manifested and saw it as the one saving grace and chance for their son. He took their advice, trying to forget as much as he could about the power that strained the relationship between him and his parents. This strain was a large part of his decision to leave and he moved out at 19.

Things were difficult, but the freedom he had now was unparalleled, if lonely. Eventually he got bored and lonely and wanted a change. One day as he was walking home from work he found himself somewhere unfamiliar and entering a new part of his life.

Demon Information

Shadow is exactly that. A shadow. Oliver has always known that his demon lurked in the darkness cast by his own body. When he was young it always stuck close to him, rarely leaving his own shadow's imprint and so he called it that after the shadow in Peter Pan. As he got older he found that it detached more often to explore this or that, or to cast darkness over whatever it was that had Oliver's attention. It has no tangible physical form that he has ever seen and as the years wore on it became clear that it didn't have human intelligence. Shadow expresses itself with noises picked up from its surroundings. If it is pleased it may express itself by using, for example, a child's laughter (often Oliver's own, which he finds disconcerting.) If it is angry it might hiss like a cat, or give an incomprehensible gibbering yell. Sometimes Oliver is able to interpret its wants and needs from these sounds and sometimes he is left frantically signing at the air as it cries inconsolably.

Whatever else it may be, it is old. Oliver knows that. He could always somehow sense it and when his Dominions began to manifest he felt his suspicions to be confirmed.
