Character Summary

Wouldn't it be wonderful if someone could grant you a wish? Well, let me tell you it's completely possible. Sorbet is an ancient demon who since the dawn of her conception has traded power, love, money, strength, and renown to humans in exchange for one simple thing. Their suffering and internal conflict, of course. She is a demon after all, what did you think wishes came with no strings attached in a world like this? No Sorbet grants wishes, gives people a taste of that which they want most, and then holds it over their heads, toying with them, getting them to do all kinds of sick, twisted things and watch as their minds split in twain from the pressure of holding on to that which is right in front of them and compromising everything the consider a value. She makes them fight, she makes them turn on their loved ones, their friends. Is their anything more delectable than someone wrestling with their guilt?
Ascensions and Legacies
Dominion 1
Mastery: Minor Proficient Major
Augmentation: The ability to enhance or weaken someone else’s dominions. A user cannot augment someone’s mastery level more than one level above their current one (i.e. Lesser can only be augmented to Minor, nothing above that), however Legendary cannot be augmented to Godly; it’s impossible. A user also cannot augment someone’s mastery above their augmentation’s mastery level (i.e. a Minor augmentation user cannot change someone’s mastery level to Proficient or anything above Minor). It’s similar if you’re trying to weaken someone’s dominion, rather than enhance. Using this power is very taxing on the body, and will often leave said user weak and unable to use any of their other dominions afterwards. It cannot be used on yourself.
Power Based: The easier it is to enhance someone else’s dominions.

Dominion 2
Mastery: Greater
Summoning: The ability to summon currently-existing people, animals, or things with the use of a symbol or ritual.
Control: The ability to summon larger inanimate objects at a given time.

Dominion 3
Mastery: Proficient Major Greater
Psychic: A psychic is a wide-encompassing dominion that can foster great power over time. Psychics dabble in fortune telling and manipulation. Psychics can also put strong mental blocks in people’s minds, making them forget certain memories or even keep secrets locked in destructive magic, so that should they die, someone could not extract that information from their head (they, of course, can also reverse these effects and even break locks put on by weaker psychics or magic). Psychics have a deep resonation with the Astral Plane as well, and if they focus hard enough, they can detect all other spirits in their vicinity, even if they are not in physical form. Psychics are known for being able to talk to the dead as well, but that is neither here nor there as far as a confirmation in reality goes. To top it all off, psychics are able to place horrible curses of luck, or blessings of fortune on willing targets (meaning, someone who agrees to subject themselves to a fortune telling).
Power Based: You focus on fortune telling and manipulation. A lesser mastery psychic cannot alter others’ luck at all, but can alter their own slightly (small things, i.e. someone gives them the wrong amount of change back at a register-- bad: too little change-- good: too much change). However, legendary psychics can alter fate in ways unimaginable (big things, i.e. someone doesn’t die when they’re supposed to-- bad: they get hit by a car and pass away years before their life expectancy-- good: they live twenty years longer due to the cancer they were going to have never coming). **These alterations can stretch the imagination, but must remain in the realm of possibility. Think of this alteration as a multiplier. Even if you multiply the chances of something with a 0% chance of happening by 10000, there will still be a 0% chance of it happening (ex. 0 x 10000 = 0). It is also important to remember that fortune telling is not the same as scrying, but moreso a foggy reading on situations with the highest probability. Lesser mastery of fortune telling is basically guessing, but as a psychic masters more of their craft, fortune telling can be clear in predicting an actual path for a person and better understanding their emotions.

Dominion 4
Mastery: Greater
Hallucinations: The ability to create, induce or control hallucinations.
Control Based: The easier it is to create specific hallucinations (i.e. showing the person a graphic, bloody depiction of a deceased relative). You can typically tell when you are being put under an illusion as well.

Dominion 5
Mastery: Lesser
Regeneration: The ability to regenerate lost limbs, organs, and cartilage on oneself.
Power Based: The greater loss you can regenerate (i.e. dependent on mastery levels, power based regeneration would allow you to regenerate bigger wounds like a severed arm, or stomped stomach).

Dominion 6
Mastery: Minor
Animation: The ability to allow objects that have never and will never live to act as though they are living. Items will never gain sentience or will of their own, but may follow orders, sometimes even after the animator is dead.
Power Based: The bigger size of unanimated objects you can animate.

Character In-Depth

"What would you be willing to do, to have your deepest desires realized? Should we find out together?"

She's an ancient demon, so old she can no longer recall her own name. A spirit of fortune, and misfortune, Sorbet has spent her life tempting mortal and demon souls alike with their deepest desires in exchange for their servitude and a life of suffering. She makes them fight, or kill, or betray their loved ones. Sometimes she does it cleanly, forcing them to kill dangerous demons, criminals, or the morally deplorable under the guise "justice and fighting evil." Other times she uses complex hallucinations and manipulative words to deceive people into seeing what she asks them to do as right and worthwhile. If they don't comply, she simply threatens to revoke their wish, to snatch from their heart's greatest desire and return them to their life of longing. She loves to prey on the most vulnerable: The desperate, the guilty, the sick, and the young. Their suffering is the most pure and they are the easiest to twist under her influence.

The city provides ample opportunity for her fun, and so long as she keeps tricking people into granting their wishes the cycle continues and she is able to revel in suffering. She has assumed the most placid, unintimidating, kind appearance she can in the hopes of dissuading suspicions from her targets and the general public. Partly she resents it, but she's become accustomed to her cartoon-y style.
